It’s now been a month since Liam and I packed up our little house in Cheltenham and moved to our two bedroom harbourside flat in Bristol. The past few weeks seem to have flown by, but we are now completely unpacked and getting settled in!

I’m not entirely sure where the idea to move to Bristol came from…in my previous job I was working more frequently from our office there and I gradually started to see more and more of the city. At first I thought Bristol was simply Cabot Circus and Cribbs Causeway but trips to St Nicholas Market, Whiteladies Road and the Clifton Suspension Bridge showed me that there was so much more to Bristol than it first seems. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with it!

We are renting at the moment and trying (!!) to save for a house in the future but our flat enables us to be in the centre of Bristol, save and still have enough money to do nice things and go out. We are very lucky that we found a flat on the harbour…when I walk outside in the morning I have a great view of the SS Great Britain on the other side of the river. I am still pinching myself that I live in such a great location!

Since moving to Bristol, we have definitely taken advantage of the wide range of food options available to us! We quickly discovered that Deliveroo delivers to our flat and we’ve made the most of their service more than once. There’s something great about having lavish burgers and sourdough pizza brought to us from a restaurant that doesn’t usually offer their own delivery service. And all without leaving the sofa! We also discovered ‘Steak of the Art’, a restaurant about two minutes from the flat. They do the most amazing roast dinners on a Sunday.

To make up for all the extra calories, I have joined the gym which is also a stone’s throw from our abode. It makes such a difference having it so close…I go almost every other day now and I don’t have to dread walking in the cold or getting the bus to complete my work out!

Liam and I go to see a lot of live music, which is mostly in Bristol anyway. It has been so nice to go to gigs/comedy nights and not have to think about driving 40 miles home afterwards!

Overall, we are absolutely loving it here and have no regrets about making the move. We are slowly trying to make our way around all of the pubstops and restaurants in the city, but if you have any recommendations please let us know!
