Is it really August already? I don’t know about you…but here in Cheltenham we celebrated with a lot of rain, thunder and a bit of lightening thrown in for good measure!

July seems to have completely flown by, but I have still managed to find time to discover some great new beauty products. July for me was all about skincare and getting that ‘glowing’ summer look. Here are my favourites from the last four weeks:

Since discovering micellar water, my skincare routine has completely changed and I have well and truly ditched the face wipes. I thought I would try out the Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (£10) as I had a voucher to get this half price. I am not usually a fan of oily products, they make my skin feel grubby, but this makes taking off your makeup so effortless. I simply use two pumps of the oil to massage into my face and eyes, and then I wet a cotton wool pad to remove the excess. Whether it’s waterproof mascara or long-wearing lipstick, this oil feels like your makeup is literally melting off your skin. A great Body Shop buy!

Secondly, I was lucky enough to receive a package from Jurlique after giving my skin a hard time at Glastonbury Festival. They sent me a Herbal Recovery box including eye cream, night cream and my personal favourite Advanced Serum (£90). Admittedly, it is pretty pricey but it does make my skin feel fresh and wide awake when I apply first thing in the morning. It has a gorgeous spring fragrance and I love it so much that I have replaced my usual moisturiser in favour of this serum. Jurlique is a brand to look out for.

July was also the month for great magazine freebies. I have seen so many blog posts raving about some of the amazing products that you could pick up with Company, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Elle. I was desperate to find a Clinique Chubby Stick with my copy of Glamour but they must have sold out of them in every shop in Cheltenham. I eventually settled for the Clinique High Impact Mascara (£17.50) but wow…I am so glad I did! I had never used Clinique mascara before but after using this sample I am completely sold.  I haven’t had any problems with my eyelashes clumping and it makes me eyes look much bigger and my lashes longer. Usually I am a big fan of Benefit Bad Gal…but I think I have found a new favourite!

Finally, I have been moving back over to blusher from bronzer recently…with my Gran Canaria tan fading more and more each day! In my makeup collection I found Rimmel Stay Blushed in 004 Sunkissed Cherry (£4.49), that I had completely forgotten I owned. I think I received it in a Glossybox back in 2013. This cream blusher gives a lovely flush of colour that subtly compliments the rest of my makeup. I can’t stress enough that a little goes a LONG way…I found out the hard way when I applied a pea sized amount and ended up looking as if I had applied my makeup in the dark. Oops! Once I have applied the tiniest amount onto the apples of my cheeks, I blend it in using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (£9.99).

So there we have it, my July 2014 favourites. Have you used any of these products? Tweet me at @alldolledupuk if so!
